Digital Literacy Program for families was conducted for five consecutive Tuesdays, from January 30 to February 27th, 2024. The 10 female participants w were newcomers from Syria, Sudan, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, and Saudi Arabia, were taught how to access My ED, check their children’s absences, send emails to the teachers, save files in folders. They became familiar with the school and the Community Centre’s Website. The parents learned more about the credit requirements for graduation, the New Steam Program at Byrne, met with the counsellors, the Youth and Family Worker, and the ELL teachers.
Graduation ceremony took place on February 27 (on the photo). The participants are now more prepared to navigate on-line school and community resources.
