We had around 300 people attend the Eid and Nowruz celebration. Our clients from different schools attended, along with principals, community coordinators and their supervisor, our supervisor and SWIS coworkers, and members of the community as well.
We had around 10 volunteers serving food, and they also came on different days to help with decorations and food preparation.
Everyone was very happy and shared positive feedback after the event. The children especially enjoyed dancing and learning about Eid, celebrating, and being happy together. It is an important learning experience, especially for the younger generation who may have never experienced these celebrations back home, as many families are unable to travel to their home countries to celebrate Eid with their relatives due to financial challenges.
