Field trip to Bloedel Conservatory & VanDusen Botanical Garden on Harvest Days
On Oct. 12, 2024, Burnaby SWIS team brought more than 50 newcomer students and their family members to visit the Bloedel Conservatory and VanDusen Botanical Garden. At the Bloedel Conservatory clients were amazed by the tropical beautiful birds and plants. While exploring in Queen Elizabeth Park in the fall season, students were given some pictures of animals or plants and magnifiers to look and match. On Harvest Days, VanDusen Botanical Garden featured Autumn themes which included fun art displays for photos, fun food trucks as well as live music performances besides what the beautiful garden initially presents. It was a fun and learning experience for both newcomer students and parents. We really appreciate the support from Vancouver Botanical Garden Association for offering free admissions to both venues and some transportation fund towards the cost of the chartered school bus. It has been continuingly helpful for our newcomer families each year to enjoy the nature and explore the community.
